I recently bought a lovely Mercedes from here and the moment I arrived I found the atmosphere to be both relaxed and unpressured. After looking around the bodywork of the car I went in to the office and was greeted by Spencer and Reece, I was then handed the keys and was left alone and in peace to have a good look at the car. I then returned to the office and was asked if I’d like to test drive it, I was then handed a trade plate and was able to take it on a good run unaccompanied so I got a good feel for the car. When I arrived back I had a good chat with Spencer and Reece, they were both very knowledgeable and came across as very friendly and genuine. I decided to buy the car there and then and the process was very straightforward and uncomplicated Spencer took care of everything. Spencer even offered to buy the car back from me when I was ready to upgrade again, that says to me he has every confidence in the cars he sells. A few days into ownership a niggley fault occurred on the car, but this is where these guys really shined through. Spencer was very helpful and had the fault fixed immediately, The after sales care was second to none and is a massive positive when buying a car, this is why I said at the beginning of this review you can buy with confidence from Spencer and Reece.
Overall a great experience and a great car
I’d like to thank you both and I’ll definitely be back when it’s time to trade in and upgrade.

The staff were very nice, easy to chat to and excellent customer service. They were also very patient when I had to phone my bank to pay for the car (the payment was blocked initially because of the amount and they were happy to let me chill in the office and sort it out).
No typical sales pitches either, they were easy to talk to and very helpful, no pushiness.
Hopefully I won't need to buy another car for a very long time but I wouldn't hesitate to go back to SJ.

I bought a used VW Scirocco from Spencer at SJ about a month ago. Can't fault the sales process - he gave me the keys, I took it for an unaccompanied test driver, everything good and I paid in full and drove off about half an hour or so later.
For the first two weeks everything was fine, the car nice and smooth and, apart from an ever so slightly dodgy drivers' window switch it drove excellently. I couldn't have been happier.
Unfortunately though, after ending up in a massive traffic jam for about 45 minutes, crawling through start stop traffic for about three miles I realised the clutch wasn't coming back off the floor very much. I managed to get the car in neutral, get my foot under the clutch pedal and pull it back up, at which point I had no further issues on my journey. Once I got to my destination I pulled out good old Dr. Google which suggested that leaking slave cylinders in Sciroccos were a common occurrence and which led to this exact problem. I don't believe SJ would have known of this issue unless they'd done that kind of stop/start journey that I had.
As the car came with a 6 month warranty I called the warranty company the day after, who helpfully told me what I'd need to do to get it sorted. Unfortunately after ringing around a few local garages nearby I was struggling to find someone to do the work. I'd only had the car two weeks so I got back in touch with Spencer to seek his assistance. His response couldn't have been better - "Sorry that's happened. Here's the number of a garage locally, give them a call, get it booked in, tell them I sent you and I'll settle the bill". Can't say fairer than that.
(Michael at LUXE Motor Company, Burbage) was far better - he came, diagnosed the faulty slave cylinder and came back a few days later to fix the car... and Spencer / SJ Cars covered the bill.
That's what I look for in a used car dealer - proper customer service. Happy to recommend, and I'd go there again if I was ever in the market for another used car.

From the outset, she had been able to see the video online of the vehicle which gave her confidence and we went to visit. We weren't harassed, took the car for a test drive on our own which was good as she didn't feel under pressure and could talk openly with me.

I came across SJ Approved used cars when looking on AutoTrader for a used Audi A1. I had been looking for quite a while (being very fussy with what I was looking for) and when I saw this car come up I loved it. I enquired about the car and got a response almost instantly. The garage told me that the car was having a few bits of work done, and told me that they would let me know as soon as it was ready to be viewed. After a few emails of me pestering them to let me know when it was ready, they assured me I would be the first to know and to view the car.
When they came back to me, they explained all of the work they had carried out, assured me that they will not sell a car that they aren't perfectly happy with (until they are); hence why it had taken a little while to sort.
We arranged a date for me to view the car, but last minute I was unable to view it due to living quite far away and unable to get to them. Even with others interested in the car, they held their word and spoke to me before selling it to anyone else. I ended up paying a deposit and they held it for me for a few days until I could collect it.
The condition of the car was absolutely amazing. So clean and thoroughly looked after. I was absolutely thrilled. It also drives so beautifully.
When on the way home we realised the buttons on the steering wheel weren't working properly. We called them up, and they straight away agreed to pay for the work that needed to be done to rectify it.
Reece and Spencer are so friendly and helpful. I was so comfortable purchasing from them, and so confident it was the best place I could possibly be buying a car. They knew it was a. huge purchase for me and weren't pushy at all.
I am so happy I found this car through SJ approved, and will 100% be returning to them when looking for my next car in the future. I so strongly recommend purchasing through them. They are fantastic and their service is phenomenal. They know what they are talking about, and they genuinely want their customers to be happy. Will be recommending to everyone I know looking for a car..!
